Honda says the new Civic will remain just a front-wheel drive vehicle. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Work is also underway on high-performance Sporty Si and Type-R variants; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">We review those models separately.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Honda Civic <\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">fuel economy<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The EPA hasn&#8217;t released any fuel economy estimates for the 2022 Civic yet, but the current model is among the most fuel-efficient in the compact car segment, and that&#8217;s unlikely to change.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">When we get a chance to test drive the new Civic, we&#8217;ll take it on the 75-mph highway fuel economy test route and report the results here.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">For more information about Civic fuel economy, visit the Environmental Protection Agency&#8217;s website.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Interior, comfort and cargo<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">A more streamlined interior debuted on the 2022 Civic, with cleaner lines and a dashboard that features a full-width honeycomb grille design element cleverly concealing the air vents.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The wider center console looks less cluttered than the previous model and features what looks like a large, deep box in front of the gear lever to stash smartphones, keys and snacks for road trips.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Honda says passenger space is about the same as the 2021 model, and the same goes for the sedan&#8217;s cargo room;
