Sitting next to a Suburban and Tahoe in the showroom, the Traverse differentiates <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cargtr.com\/en\/chevrolet-trailblazer-2021\/\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">itself from its brethren by offering a<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> more car-like driving experience (that is, it&#8217;s not a pickup truck). <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The powerful 3.6-liter V-6 runs smoothly and quietly under the hood, and up to eight passengers can rest in relative comfort within the Traverse&#8217;s spacious cabin. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Infotainment technology is plentiful, even on the base model, but the Traverse&#8217;s offering disappoints when compared to competitors of the same size that offer a more luxurious feel\u2014namely, the Kia Telluride and its twin Hyundai Palisade.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">What&#8217;s new for 2021? <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Chevrolet Traverse<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\">\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_661\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-661\" style=\"width: 524px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-661\" src=\"http:\/\/cargtr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/car-gtr-4-18.jpg\" alt=\"Chevrolet Traverse \" width=\"524\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cargtr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/car-gtr-4-18.jpg 524w, https:\/\/cargtr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/car-gtr-4-18-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-661\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Chevrolet Traverse<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Chevrolet planned to release the updated Traverse for 2021, but it was pushed into 2022 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic that shuttered manufacturing facilities around the world. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Traverse will transition from 2020 to 2021 without any changes while Chevrolet prepares the improved 2022 model for primetime.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Given the number of trim levels Chevy offers on the Traverse, you&#8217;re sure to find one that fits your budget, but the finer details get a big notch once you get to the RS model. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It comes standard with a slew of features, including 20-inch wheels, heated front seats, automatic high-beam headlights, interior navigation, a home-style 120-volt outlet in the rear center console, leather upholstery, and a steering wheel. Heated, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, and dual exhaust with sporty rectangular finishes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>\r\n<h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Engine, transmission and performance <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\">\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_662\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-662\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The powerful engine gives the V-6 its legs<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , and the nine-speed automatic transmission shifts gears unnoticeably. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The 3.6-liter V-6 pulls hard and the Traverse is the fastest in its class. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The cabin is so quiet that you need to glance at the tachometer to ensure the engine is running while there is a stop sign. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">And that might not be the case, given that Traverse features what may be the smoothest auto shutdown feature we&#8217;ve tested. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">When parking or maneuvering at low speed, the Traverse feels compact. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Pick up speed, however, and the big Chevy handles like a much smaller car \u2014 poised, if not overtly sporty. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Steering effort is low, but the system is subtle and makes steering a large SUV a breeze. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Traverse&#8217;s suspension system strikes a fine balance between agility and ride comfort.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>\r\n<h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Chevrolet Traverse fuel economy<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Judge the Traverse by its mid-tier EPA fuel economy numbers, and you&#8217;ll do so with only half the information. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In our real-world tests, the all-wheel drive Traverse High Country&#8217;s V6 delivered 27 mpg, the best highway fuel economy among its main competitors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>\r\n<h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Chevrolet Traverse interior, comfort and cargo cabin<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Traverse offers spacious accommodations for seven or eight passengers, including a third row for adults. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Chevrolet&#8217;s six-tier model lineup offers buyers plenty of choice, and premium content naturally increases with price. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The higher-level material in High Country is great but slightly below expectations due to the label of this lofty edition. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">As for space, we found that six handbags could be carried behind the third row, which is impressive for this class. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Drop all of the Traverse&#8217;s foldable seats and you&#8217;ll be a cargo-carrying champion, with more space than any of its competitors. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It offers the largest first-class storage space in its class, too.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>\r\n<h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Information, entertainment and communication<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\">\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_663\" throughout the Traverse&#8217;s cabin, and the SUV&#8217;s infotainment system is easy to use and responsive, with color graphics, a highly-installed touchscreen, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>\r\n<h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Safety and driver assistance features<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The 2021 Traverse received <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cargtr.com\/en\/chevrolet-trailblazer-2021\/\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> Administration (NHTSA),
