Cadillac 2021 CT4<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

2021 Cadillac As the only American offering in a segment dominated by Europeans, <\/span><\/span>the 2021 Cadillac CT4 has a lot<\/span><\/span><\/a> to prove. <\/span>Fortunately, its sharp styling is matched by its playful driving demeanor, and the CT4 acts as a desirable entry-level caddy that doesn’t disregard the desires and needs of enthusiastic drivers.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Two turbocharged four-cylinder<\/span><\/span><\/a> engines are available : <\/span>a 237-hp 2.0-liter engine is standard, but we recommend an optional 2.7-liter 309-horsepower mill. <\/span>Buyers looking for more performance should stick with the CT4-V Blackwing (reviewed separately), which will debut in 2021. Unfortunately for Cadillac, the CT4’s cabin somewhat does not achieve the same goal as the luxury compact cars. <\/span>Such as the BMW 2-series Gran Coupe and Mercedes-Benz A-class.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Cadillac CT4 2021<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\r\n

The CT4 is entering its second year on the market with some improvements, an optional 12.0-inch digital display and the available Diamond Sky Edition package. <\/span>The latter adds a lower body kit, Brembo brakes, model-specific wheels, an aluminum-trimmed center console, and two-tone leather upholstery, among other things. <\/span>Cadillac also made previously optional driver assistance features\u2014such as automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection\u2014standard and added a Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving mode as an option.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Premium Luxury mid-range model represents a valuable place in the CT4 lineup. <\/span>The transition from the base Luxury to Premium Luxury brings in subtle details like genuine leather upholstery and 18-inch wheels. <\/span>We’d splurge and add the Bose premium audio system, which includes navigation, a 14-speaker stereo system with a wireless smartphone charging pad. <\/span>Whichever option packages you choose, do yourself a favor and select the most powerful 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Buyers can choose between two<\/span><\/span><\/a> turbocharged four-cylinder engines: a 2.0-liter 237-horsepower engine that powers the base Luxury, Premium Sport and mid-range models, while a 2.7-liter engine is optional on Premium Luxury and standard on the CT4-V <\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

It generates 309 horsepower in the former and 325 horsepower in the second. <\/span>The smaller of the two engines is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission while the larger four get a 10-speed. <\/span>Rear wheel drive is the standard arrangement and a rarity in this segment. <\/span>Competitors such as the Audi A3, BMW 2-series Gran Coupe and Mercedes A-class all rely on a front-engine chassis. <\/span>The CT4 offers an all-wheel drive option on all models. <\/span>We drove the CT4-V and found it sporty, enthusiastic and fast, although we would have preferred a little more improvement from the 10-speed gearbox. <\/span>Even in this sportier appearance, Caddy’s suspension handles the potholes without punishing the occupants and provides a sharp, rewarding handling that any car enthusiast can appreciate.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

fuel economy<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Both turbocharged four-cylinder CT4 engines provide adequate fuel economy. <\/span>Rear-wheel drive models with the 2.0-liter are rated high at 23 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined. <\/span>Choosing all-wheel drive lowers the highway number by 2 mpg and the combined number by 1. The more powerful 2.7-liter engine is less efficient but not by much, with the rear-wheel drive model coming in at 20 mpg city, and 30 mpg highway. rapid, and 24 mpg combined. <\/span>The CT4’s main competitors – the Audi A3, BMW 2-series Gran Coupe, and Mercedes-Benz A-class – all have similar fuel economy ratings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Inside the CT4, Cadillac wisely switched to a more user-friendly control setup versus the <\/span>ATS’s <\/span><\/span>touch-sensitive interface . <\/span><\/span><\/a>Although the interior design and quality of materials seem attractive at first, it is unremarkable in the end. <\/span>Cabin space is tight for adults, especially in the rear seats, but Cadillac offers several luxury features as standard even in the base, including 12-way power-adjustable front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. <\/span>Transitioning across the range offers more attractive features, such as leather upholstery, magnesium paddle shifters, ambient interior lighting, and memory settings for the driver’s seat and exterior mirrors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All CT4 vehicles come with an 8.0″ touch screen display with the latest CUE software. <\/span>Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces come standard, as is the onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. <\/span>Cadillac offers navigation on all models. <\/span>It comes with a wireless smartphone charging pad and a 14-speaker Bose stereo system that replaces the car’s standard eight-speaker arrangement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
