Hydrogen is no less than the most abundant chemical element on planet Earth. <\/span>It occupies a large part of the atmosphere, it is found in water and even in our constitution as humans.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But what then is the price of producing hydrogen as a fuel?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The price of hydrogen for fuel: how much does it cost to produce it?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

The cost of hydrogen production depends on the type of hydrogen being produced. <\/span>There are currently three types of hydrogen: gray hydrogen, blue hydrogen, and green hydrogen. <\/span>It is categorized as such due to the pollutant emissions released from its production, with green hydrogen being the most ecological of them all, which we will focus on.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Green hydrogen, or renewable hydrogen, is currently produced at a cost of between \u20ac2.5 and \u20ac5.5 per kilogram, according to ECO newspaper.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Although we cannot use Portugal as an example yet, due to the limited expansion of the hydrogen supply network, we can note the case of the United States, where refueling a full tank of hydrogen can cost between $80 and $100, about \u20ac70-\u20ac90.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But why is it so expensive to produce hydrogen fuel? <\/span>Hyundai Electric<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

The hydrogen problem is not in the production process itself, but in post-production. <\/span>Because hydrogen has less energy per unit volume, when compared to other fuels, transporting it, storing it, and delivering it to the final point, ends up becoming more expensive.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What can we expect in the future from the price of hydrogen as a fuel?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Although current values \u200b\u200bstill do not allow for the intensification of these environmental compounds, it is expected that future production costs, for the fuel and the hydrogen vehicle itself, will decrease and allow more people to access this green technology.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
