the colors of the V-6&#8217;s blown exhaust. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">All models wear a stylish exterior design and offer a comfortable cabin with all the amenities expected of a Mercedes, although the two-door models are less practical and offer less room for rear-seat passengers. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">While its performance isn&#8217;t as impressive as the more powerful C63, the C43&#8217;s balanced price tag is more accessible and retains the fun-to-driving nature and upscale areas of the other C-Class changes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cargtr.com\/en\/mercedes-benz-g-class-2021\/\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">If you prefer a two-door or top-end look<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , we&#8217;ll <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cargtr.com\/en\/mercedes-benz-g-class-2021\/\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">leave<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> that decision up to you, but we prefer the sedan due to its added utility and ease of access to the back seat. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In addition, the price of the four-door is lower. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">However, we can&#8217;t resist some of the options here, and we&#8217;ll opt for the Driver Assistance Package, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">We&#8217;re also adding heated and ventilated front seats.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span Powerful and torque-rich, the 385-hp engine pairs with a new nine-speed automatic transmission that shifts gears with both speed and precision. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Enhanced Six has deep wells of strength and you never feel overwhelmed or overwhelmed when you demand it. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Although the power has increased from 362 to 385 hp,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The 2019 C43 <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cargtr.com\/en\/mercedes-benz-g-class-2021\/\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Sedan delivered the same 4.1-second test time from zero to 60 mph on our<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> test track as the 2017 model we last tested. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">While the Mercedes-AMG C43 supplies a pair of steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, we found the nine-speed gearbox to be a competent enough companion when left to its own devices. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In proportion to the AMG badges,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The dynamically skilled C43 is a pleasure to drive on two winding tracks. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">But add to its quick steering that&#8217;s both direct and precise, as well as a rear-biased all-wheel drive system that allows a small turn of the chassis before asking for extra help from the front wheels. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The suspension can be adjusted between Comfort, Sport and Sport + settings. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">However, all three modes are unnecessarily stiff, and make driving on rough pavement an unpleasant experience.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Mercedes fuel economy<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The fuel economy of the Mercedes C43 will not put you in the good graces of the local Sierra Club. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">However, the twin-turbocharged engine is very frugal due to its powerful performance. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Any car that can jump to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and deliver 29 mpg on long highway cruising is an impressive player. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The C43 sedan we tested did just that; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The coupe managed the same result, but the convertible lagged a bit in our real-world test at 28 mpg.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Mercedes interior, comfort and cargo<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The interior of the Mercedes C43 has been meticulously designed and crafted from rich materials that meet the expectations set by the model&#8217;s exorbitant price. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">As on the other C-Class models, the C43 features a contemporary dashboard design with a flowing center stack that conceals a deep storage well with a pair of cup holders. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">largely devoid of buttons, the C43&#8217;s center stack rests on a row of expensive, knurled-looking swing switches to power the standard dual-zone automatic climate control system. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Conveniently arranged, the climate control panel features small graphics that are hard to read on the go. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">C43 trunk space is medium; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration is also standard. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Commands are completed using a rotating console or a touchpad placed inconveniently on top of the console. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Response times were no better or worse than your average smartphone.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Safety and driver assistance features<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Therefore, the C-Class AMG version has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS); <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The regular Benz-branded C-Class earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS in 2020.
