The BMW X1, model F48, is built on the floor of the car body. November 29, 2018 BMW Thailand cancels the X1 sDrive18i xLine subcompact model worth 2,259,000 baht by offering the sDrive18i ICONIC model, priced at 1,999,000 baht, to be launched in place of the market at Auto Show 2018.

As for the Minorchange model, or what BMW calls LCI (Life Cycle Impulse), it was revealed for the first time on the BMW website on May 29, 2019. This final facelift from LCI is a minor version update. Until only one model remains i.e. the code changes from sDrive18d to sDrive20d with external improvements. By changing the front grille with a new pattern, along with a new design of LED headlights, a new front bumper cover. With LED fog lights outside the car and roof rails, trimmed with matte aluminum. Besides the rear bumper shell including taillight assembly, it has also been redesigned.

The seat belt is a 3 point ELR type with shock mitigation system. The pre-tensioner and load limiter are automatically retracted, unfortunately the high and low level cannot be set.

In general, the front seats are very hard. It is uncomfortable to sit in it, the foam is firm in all positions, and the Mini Countryman seats are more comfortable. Of all its competitors, the Audi Q3’s front seats are the most comfortable, followed by the Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and X1 F48.

Getting in and out of the tailgate still works just as well as before, as a result of the door opening being a good size that’s not too small compared to today’s competitors, the X1’s rear door openings are only slightly wider than the regular Audi Q3, and there’s more room for your head to get inside more from the new GLA. Get into the back seat, or you’ll be hitting your head on the  top edge of the roof as usual anyway.

It was driven with the second row seat in the car we tested. The seats are 64mm higher than the first X1 and have 37mm more legroom. The back row seat cushions are the worst among the competitors in their class. They offer worse support,  even the front seat cushions are damaged. It comes in the same style. Although the overall second-row seats aren’t as comfortable as the new Mercedes-Benz GLA, the X1 still has an edge over its competitors in terms of comfort. In general, the seats, both front and back, are not comfortable at all. One thing that needs to be improved and I can only hope that the new X1 will actually solve this problem.

The rear tailgate with wiper blade nozzles and rear defoggers are electric bolt systems.
