2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Dodge Charger The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will likely come with a swear bowl, because its looks and acceleration are best described as insults . With its frighteningly wide design and 797 horsepower, there are only a few select words that accurately describe this extremely powerful sedan. Dodge’s big, powerful car is well on its way to becoming a household name thanks to the Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-liter engine , which now produces 717 horsepower at its base tune. While the rear-wheel drive four-door is better at blasting the drag strips rather than on the track, its great cornering grip and tight body control make it look nimble than expected. Too bad its steering is not as alive as its engine. However, the 2021 SRT Hellcat supercharger is practical enough to carry a small family and their belongings. But be careful. It may turn your kids into potty mouths. Dodge Charger

Dodge does what Dodge does best when it comes to annual updates to its seemingly ageless cars: it gives them more power. The 2021 Hellcat-powered Supercharger now produces 717 horsepower, 10 more than last year. There’s also a new Redeye model that inherits performance parts from the limited-production Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. While the more powerful Supercharger is still not as powerful as a drag race-ready coupe, the Hellcat engine has been optimized to make 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque. The Redeye also features a unique and functional hood design as well as special 20″ x 11″ wheels.

Now that Dodge has said how much the 2021 Hellcat Chargers will cost, we can say we’ll spend an extra $8,600 and get the more powerful Redeye model. It comes with the same coveted standard features as well as some of its own unique content, like a 220mph red speedometer and a few Redeye logos. We’ll also upgrade the interior with an optional carbon and suede package that covers the subtle soda headliner and trim pieces in real carbon fibre.

Without a doubt, the Hellcat’s main attraction is its supercharged 6.2-liter V8. If you haven’t heard, it now produces 717 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The Redeye features an improved version of the Hellcat engine, which produces 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet. Dodge claims the Redeye can rip the quarter-mile drag strip in 10.6 seconds at 129 mph. However, we didn’t get a chance to test the latest example ourselves. Obviously, these ultimate chargers won’t leave anyone wanting to get their hands on power,

All are directed to the rear wheels via a fast-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. The last Hellcat we tested sprinted to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and completed the quarter mile in 11.9 seconds at 124 mph. Of course, its unrealistic performance doesn’t come without a price, and drivers must carefully apply the throttle to maintain traction. And those big rear tires are very expensive to replace. The standard wide-body setup we drove improves the Supersedan’s body control and cornering grip thanks to wider, firmer tires and stiffer body components. However, the wide-body Hellcat front tires don’t contact the steering wheel as much as we’d like.

  • fuel economy

Neither Dodge nor the Environmental Protection Agency has released fuel economy ratings for the 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat or the more powerful Redeye variant. We’re not sure of the government’s estimate for the 797-horsepower engine, but we think the Hellcat’s 717-hp engine will have similar numbers to the 2020 model, which is rated at 12 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. That’s really impressive when you consider how much power this sedan has. Once the 2021 EPA estimates are released, and we have the opportunity to test every model on our 200-mile highway, we can assess real-world mpg.

  • INTERIOR, COMFORT AND CARGO DODGE CHARGER

Inside, the SRT Hellcat shares the same styling and passenger space as tamer Chargers. However, it does have a plethora of desirable standard features and some personal options. Every Charger SRT Hellcat includes a 200-mph speedometer, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats. There’s a Carbon & Suede package that adds real carbon fiber interior trim and a faux suede upper lining for a sporty vibe. The volumetric interior storage space is marked by points for storing small items, and we manage to fit seven handbags in the large charger box.

  • Information, entertainment and communication

Every SRT Hellcat Charger has a premium 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Its large screen responds quickly to inputs, and the switches and buttons make the interface easy to use. Want to shine while doing a massive burn? Dodge offers an impressive 19-speaker Harman / Kardon audio system.

Dodge Charger Safety and Driver Assistance Features

The 2021 SRT Hellcat charger has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). While the high-powered sedan includes basic driver assistance technology, more advanced assistance such as adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking are lacking. Key safety features include:

 Standard blind spot monitoring

 Standard rear cross traffic alert

 Rear parking sensors

Warranty and maintenance coverage

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is covered by a limited engine and warranty, but it doesn’t include any free scheduled maintenance.

The limited warranty covers three years or 36000 miles

Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles

 No free scheduled maintenance
