However, it does make it difficult to live with the ZL1 every day because the upgraded suspension is very strict. Instead, we simply add performance data and a video recorder to capture the days when we’re brave enough to bring that hell of 650 horsepower to the racetrack.

The Camaro’s supercharged 6.2L V-8 is a well-behaved, walkable beast, delivering power throughout the rev range and leaving black streaks on the road. As you’d expect, when moved, it lets the sound of thunder reverberate in its wake. Whether paired with the standard six-speed manual transmission or the available 10-speed automatic, the compact, supercharged V-8 engine delivers impressive performance numbers. Get the 1LE Track Package, which locks the ZL1 into an area close to the supercar. Its wider, sturdier tires, manually adjustable front suspension, and exclusive spool-valve dampers help chew up the racetracks and turn out happy drivers. The ZL1 stops from 70 mph in 143 feet, and the ZL1 brake pedal operates firmly to fit a performance car.
