BMW 2021 X5 M
BMW 2021 X5 M
BMW 2021 If you’re willing to put in six figures for your trip, you can buy a whole lot of excitement with the high-performance BMW X5 M 2021, based on the regular BMW X5 SUV, the M Edition is powered by a twin-turbo V-engine. -8 tuned to 617 horsepower . It’s mated to a velvety eight-speed automatic transmission and a convertible all-wheel drive system that features a custom rear drive mode. Despite its hefty weight, the high-ride Bimmer has almost the cornering grip and handling characteristics of the lighter, more powerful BMW M5 sedan. However, the boxy SUV offers more cargo storage space in its impressive interior. While some shoppers will find the 2021 X5 M’s impressive acceleration and rough ride too intimidating, others will relish its silliness.
BMW 2021
For 2021, the BMW X5 M gives some new standard features and removes several standalone options. Android Auto is now finally introduced. It’s standard with a 1-year subscription to the 360-liter SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Previously optional roof rails and brushed aluminum exterior trim, night vision with pedestrian detection, and a rear-seat entertainment system have been eliminated. BMW is also changing the competition’s naming from model to package.
We recommend spending the extra coin on the competition package to improve performance. In addition to the extra horsepower, it comes standard with a louder exhaust system, exclusive track mode, and larger-diameter rear wheels and tires. It also offers gentle leather upholstery and adds padding on the sides of the center console to prevent bruising to your knee during hard cornering.
Engine, transmission and performance BMW 2021
A monster hides under the hood of every x5 m. The 4.4-liter V-8 that’s hiding there has two turbochargers that power the air so it can make 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The Competition package adds another 17 horsepower. Every X5 M uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and a variable all-wheel drive system, the latter allowing the driver to choose between maximum traction on all four wheels or extra agility in rear-biased lane mode. A 21-inch set of wheels and adaptive dampers are standard equipment. However, those who want a staggered set of 22-inch pulleys backwards have this option as well. Larger rear wheels are standard with the Competition package. We drove a Competition-equipped model impressed with sports-car-like grip in the corners and impressive acceleration.
BMW 2021 fuel economy
It takes a lot of fuel to produce the kind of horsepower that the X5 M does , and that shows up in the EPA’s fuel economy ratings. The X5 M delivers an estimated 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. We still have to rate real-world highway mpg on the 75-mph fuel-economy road, which is part of our comprehensive test regimen.
Interior, comfort and cargo BMW 2021
The interior of the X5 M has been designed and equipped with a myriad of desirable features. There is a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel that also houses a pair of paddle shifters and red “M” drive mode buttons. Ambient interior lighting, large display, heated steering wheel and front armrests, and biomaterials are all standard. Those who want plush leather upholstery, massage front seats with heated and cooled cushions, heated rear seats, and more can add it in for extra cash. There’s no shortage of passenger space in the front and rear seats, and cargo space is large enough to fit 11 handbags behind the back row.
BMW 2021 info, entertainment and connectivity
Every X5 M has a loaded infotainment system and countless connectivity features. The company’s iDrive software is displayed via a 12.3-inch touchscreen that can also be controlled via hand gestures, voice commands, and a rotating console in the center console. While Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a Harman/Kardon audio system are standard, the Bowers & Wilkins audio system is a stand-alone option.
Safety and driver assistance features
The 2021 X5 M has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
