BMW X6 2021

BMW X6 2021 The BMW X6 2021 is designed for shoppers who want a luxury mid-size crossover with sporty aesthetics. Although traditionalists may scoff at its fastback design and criticize its low-end practicality, they should remember that the more traditional BMW X5 is still around. Additionally, BMW spearheaded the coupe SUV movement with the original X6,

So it must now defend its market share against spin-offs like the Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Mercedes-AMG GLE-class. Not only does the X6 feature a luxuriously proportioned cabin and entertaining driving styles, it also boasts a range of fast and upscale powertrains. The 523-hp twin-turbo V-8 is much more expensive than the standard six-cylinder engine, but it’s still a better value than the six-figure price that the 600-horsepower X6 M commands. Regardless of its performance level, the 2021 X6 is a machine for people who love to be seen.

The 2021 X6 lineup adds some new standard features , drops some old ones, and gets reworked option packages. The most notable new addition is Android Auto, which was previously unavailable and is now standard. However, BMW is eliminating previous options such as acoustic windows, glass interior controls, rear entertainment system, and night vision with pedestrian detection. The six-cylinder X6 now features a 48-volt hybrid system, and the V-8-powered version adds standard remote start and ventilated front seats.

Despite the more sophisticated sounds and bolder acceleration that the 523-horsepower X6 M50i delivers, we don’t need to spend nearly an extra $20,000 on it. Instead, we were sticking with the X6 40i’s six-cylinder rear-wheel drive. Those who want all-wheel drive can add it in for $2,300. We’re starting in the spring for the M Sport package which includes a sleek body kit and trim, upgraded exhaust system, retuned suspension,

And a unique steering wheel. We will also pay extra to avoid black and white paint colors at no cost. We don’t think it’s necessary to upgrade to the richer Merino leather upholstery, but we’ll add the premium package. Includes head-up display, remote engine start, wireless charging, and more. The Deluxe Seating Package is a solid value that adds ventilated front seats with additional power adjustments and massage functions. Our other individual upgrades include armrests and a heated steering wheel, as well as two-axle air suspension.

  • Engine, transmission and performance BMW X6 2021

The X6 40i is powered by a 335-hp 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six that features a 48-volt hybrid system and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The M50i has the same transmission and standard all-wheel drive, but the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 is much more powerful. Its 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque helped it climb from 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds on our test track. Even more shocking, the X6 M has up to 617 horsepower and is faster.

However, the standard six-cylinder engine is very fast and smooth. The X6 40i and M50i also have standard adaptive dampers and wheel sizes from 20 to 22 inches. Our testing of the V-8 powered X6 revealed great cornering grip and stopping power. Although its suspension is stronger than the setup found on the X6’s six-cylinder engine, it was never punishing. We also appreciated the adjustable steering wheel and the quiet interior at cruising speed.

  • fuel economy

The EPA estimates that the rear-wheel drive X6 40i will gain 21 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway. The all-wheel drive version has the same city rating, but the highway number drops to 25 mpg. The more powerful twin-turbo V-8 X6 M50i is rated at 16 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. While the X6’s all-wheel-drive six-cylinder engine exceeded government expectations on our highway’s 75-mph fuel-economy—part of our comprehensive test system—it got 29 mpg on the highway, the M50i missed Its mark was 2 mpg in the same test.

  • Interior, comfort and cargo

Unsurprisingly, the X6’s interior looks much like most other new BMW products. This means high-end materials, soft-touch surfaces, and two large 12.3-inch digital screens that dominate the dashboard. While the dashboard looks blotchy, the gauges create a confusing mess. Fortunately, the optional display screen is much sharper. The rest of the key set is also cleverly designed. Built in BMW Gesture Controls – which let you control certain functions such as volume by waving your hand in front of the infotainment screen –

But it is not necessary. Plenty of standard amenities are offered as well, including 16-way power-adjustable front seats, customizable ambient lighting, heated front cushions, and passive entry. While the rear seat is comfortable for two adults, legroom and height are reduced by about 2 and 3 inches, respectively, compared to the Boxier X5. Likewise, the X6 has less cargo volume behind the rear seats. In our testing, I only carried nine bags in there; X5 handled 11.

The standard 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It operates through various functions such as traditional buttons, voice commands, the rotary console on the center console, and even hand gestures. The company’s iDrive interface has crisp graphics and instant responses, but some of the layered menus can be distracting. BMW also offers upgrades such as integrated navigation, improved USB ports, wireless charging and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The X6 can also be upgraded with a premium Harman/Kardon stereo or a more premium Bowers & Wilkins unit.
