Dodge Durango 2021 392 srt
2021 Dodge Durango When a two-door muscle car just isn’t right for your needs, Dodge has only the answer with the 2021 Durango SRT 392. A roaring Hemi V-8 engine under the hood of a three-row SUV makes 475 horsepower and drives that big Dodge To 60 mph in a fleet of 4.7 seconds. The Durango SRT will do a sick tire on all fours—you know, for those times when you want to convince the kids that you’re still a great guy. If you’re looking to save on your fuel bill, then Dodge isn’t the crossover for you. It is one of the few prized SUVs for sale that will keep your high-octane image while providing the space and practicality a family needs. 2021 Dodge Durango
Like the standard Durango and the new Limited Edition Durango SRT Hellcat, the SRT 392 receives a slightly updated exterior design, a redesigned dashboard and a new 10.1-inch infotainment system for 2021.
So standard features on the SRT 392 include the navigation system, leather and microsuede seats with heated and ventilated front passengers, heated second-row captain’s seats, and three-zone automatic climate control. If we were to select this car, we’d probably add a Technology Group package for adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and other driver assistance features.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance 2021 Dodge Durango
The Durango SRT’s 6.4L V-8 engine gives you more flair than most people need in a three-row SUV. But we’re not most people, and if you’re reading this, you probably aren’t. The Durango SRT puts its power in a smooth, linear fashion. It’s brutally fast too, and looks really cool under heavy throttle. Come to think of it, the Durango SRT’s V-8 engine sounds rattling and thumping even at half-throttle,
Which is a good thing, because highly choked situations on public roads quickly lead to “sorry, officer” speeds. On the test track, the Durango SRT managed a 4.7 second run to 60 mph, just 0.3 seconds behind the similarly double-row Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. From behind the wheel, it’s easy to feel like a racing champion, even with the whole family on board. The SUV’s steering is sharp and continuous, and the stiff suspension does a commendable job of concealing the Durango SRT’s weight and high center of gravity. On rough terrain, the ride is far from soft-cushioned, which is a trade-off for the performance-focused setup; The most aggressive track mode feels completely punishing on all but the softest surfaces. But at least a Durango SRT can tow 8,700 pounds.
-
fuel economy
Fuel-sipping is nothing but the forte of the Durango SRT, and the 6.4-liter V-8 ponies are as thirsty in the Durango as they are in the Grand Cherokee SRT. We wish we could say the SRT brutes redeemed themselves in our real-world testing, but that’s not the case: They both delivered 18 mpg in our hands.

Interior, comfort and cargo
That means the SRT is as spacious and family-friendly as the regular Durango but features standard leather sports seats, second-row captain’s chairs and a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. First and second row passengers receive heated seats; The fronts see ventilation, too. It’s not the most compact SUV, but the Durango SRT accommodated quite a few hand luggage in our tests (26 with the rear rows folded) and offered enough room inside the cabin. Grocery owner will get this job done easily and in record time.

Information, entertainment and contact information for the 2021 Dodge Durango
But displayed on the 10.1-inch touchscreen that sits prominently on the dashboard of the Durango SRT is Dodge’s version of the Fiat Chrysler Uconnect infotainment system. The program responds clearly to input and is very easy to use. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and navigation are standard here, and drivers also benefit from real-time traffic and weather updates from SiriusXM Travel Link. What sets the SRT apart from lower Durango systems is the list of performance pages. This feature set allows users to monitor all kinds of geek car data, such as horsepower, cornering force, and even acceleration time stats. Do you think you can beat our 60 mph blast in 4.7 seconds? Run the timer from the appropriate tab in the performance pages, set playback control, and find out.

Safety and driver assistance features
Without crash test results from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, we cannot comment on the performance of the Durango SRT in the event of an accident. The Durango’s benchmark scores in IIHS tests were modest for 2018. A range of driver assistance features are available, but few are standard equipment. Key safety features include:
Automatic rear emergency braking system
Standard automatic high beam headlights
Automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control
