Genesis gave the G70 luxury sedan its entry in 2022,

Genesis engine, transmission and performance

The base G70 2.0T features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sends 252 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels;

Four-wheel drive optional . Its engine felt booked up around town, and acceleration times were normal. However, our heart skipped a beat when we got behind the wheel of a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6,

That is, with 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. We spent some personal time with the 3.3T rear-wheel drive and were stunned by the thrust of the engine that sent it from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds in our test. Regardless of the powertrain configuration, the G70 has expertly balanced driving and handling characteristics.

The suspension smoothed out uneven surfaces, and the sedan held ground during spirited cornering sessions. The more powerful 3.3T does, however, have the advantage of adaptive dampers that allow the driver to tighten the ride if needed, but all the money the G70 has done has done a great job of sending information into the driver’s hands. Steering feedback is subtle and pleasant, however, with adjustable effort available by switching between multiple driving modes.

We didn’t get a chance to test the car with any of the new powertrain options. So when we get a chance, we’ll put the updated G70 through a 75-mph highway fuel economy test and update this story with the results.

Interior, comfort and cargo

legroom. We were able to fit five handbags in the trunk of the G70, and a total of 14 bags with the back seat

folded. Small internal storage includes a handy drawer at the front of the center console ideal for smartphones and other small items.

But every G70 is equipped with a standard 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system so it stands out from the clean dashboard. Safety and driver assistance features

The G70 was awarded a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the highest but honor given by the independent crash-testing agency. However, Genesis has not been evaluated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
