Lexus 2021 RX
Lexus 2021 RX
Lexus 2021 The 2021 Lexus RX may look aggressive and sporty, but its character is rather relaxed and comfortable, making it an ideal choice for cruising. Even upgrading to an F Sport model brings a bit of driving excitement. A 3.5-liter V-6 is standard on models with the RX350 badge and a hybrid powertrain can be found on the RX450h;
The acceleration of both models is suitably quiet. Buyers will also choose from the standard two-row version of the RX and the elongated three-row version of the RX-L, but the latter isn’t well suited to frequent third-row riders. The accommodations in the front and second rows are much nicer and more spacious, with plush seat cushions and plenty of luxuries.
Lexus 2021
Lexus introduced the Black Line Special Edition package for F Sport models. It comes with black exterior accents, 20″ black wheels,
Interior leather blue stitching , ultra white or Greek water (medium blue) paint. Notably, ordering the Black Line Special Edition package also adds a two-piece set of Zero Halliburton bags. Elsewhere, the RX receives a new interior color – Glazed Caramel – which replaces Noble Brown. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and power-folding outside mirrors are all now standard. The Wireless Smartphone Charging Pad is now optional and the Performance Pack has been reworked as the Handling Pack.
The F Sport models look the coolest, in our opinion, so we’re choosing the RX350 F Sport with lighter options. Among the many options packages in RX, we will keep it simple and just add the navigation package; It features a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, interior navigation, DVD/CD player, and a 12-speaker audio system. Lexus hasn’t released official pricing yet, so we estimated that above.
2021 Lexus Engine, Transmission & Performance
Buyers can get the RX in two distinct flavors : the RX350-branded RX350 models are powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 while the RX450h comes with two V-6 plus electric motors. Our RX350 test vehicle was equipped with all-wheel drive and managed a decent—but slow segment—run of 6.9 seconds from zero to 60 mph.
The RX450h is one of the few hybrids in this segment but it also requires a longer than average time to hit 60 mph in rest. What the RX does best is to ride comfortably; It irons out rugged stretches of the road and provides a consistent ride. The cabin remains quiet and well insulated from the road, making the RX an excellent long-distance cruiser.
2021 Lexus fuel economy
Fuel efficiency is where the RX shines, and not just because it’s offered with an optional hybrid powertrain. The RX350 non-hybrid doesn’t look competent on paper. However, in the real world, the RX350 and RX450h both beat their EPA ratings, and both scored 31 mpg in the test with a fuel economy on the highways of 200 miles.
Interior, comfort and cargo
Lexus chose premium materials for the RX’s interior, including smooth leather, metal or wood trim, and soft-touch plastic. The driving position is comfortable and easy to settle in, but the interior is tinged with some ergonomics: the radio adjusting knob is a long and difficult access from the driver’s seat, and the infotainment system is operated by an annoyingly imprecise device control only at the rear of the transmission. Luckily ,
Lexus has added touchscreen capability to the RX’s infotainment system. While not a cargo champ, the RX came close to carrying just one handbag less behind its rear seats than the triumphant Cadillac XT5. With the second row folded—a process that takes place either from the side door or from the cargo area—the RX matched the XT5 with 24 boxes. Folding the seats does not result in a completely flat floor.
Information, entertainment and communication
We found the Enform infotainment system difficult to use while driving, but it comes standard with many of the car’s most modern and sought-after features: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Wi-Fi are included on board. An 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen comes standard, but upgrading to a 12.3-inch screen not only brings a wider display screen, but also adds navigation within the dashboard,
a 12-speaker audio system (nine-speaker standard setup), DVD/CD player and access to the Lexus Enform suite of applications. This suite of apps provides access to emergency assistance as well as limited internet access from the infotainment system. An optional 15-speaker Mark Levinson premium audio system, as well as a rear-seat entertainment system with wireless headphones and dual 11.6-inch screens are available.
Safety and driver assistance features for the 2021 Lexus
Solid crash test results from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (five stars for four-wheel drive models and four stars for front-wheel drive drivers) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (Top Safety Pick) should grab the RX’s attention from the safety mind of consumers. Standard driver assistance features add more incentive to buy, but a more comprehensive introduction of standard driver assists could move the RX higher in this segment. Key safety features include:
Standard automatic emergency braking system
Standard Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keeping Assist
Standard adaptive cruise control
