Optima 2021
The 2021 Optima is powered by the all-new N3 platform, and Kia says it’s longer, lower, wider and more powerful than the platform that underpins the vehicle it replaces. Most importantly for the consumer
For those who matter most about first impressions, the K5 takes the Optima’s design and radicalizes it with a sleek profile. Our “tiger nose grille” that we’re used to now has gotten longer and slender, just like the rest of the car. The headlights extend from the grille outward toward the corners of the front bumper, and the turn indicates zigzag in the front fenders. The roofline slopes strongly at the rear of the car , which now features a full-width taillight.
Engine Specifications Optima 2021
There will be two engine options at launch . But the smallest of them all is a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The optional engine is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torsion. 1.8 liter cars get 8-speed auto standard,
But the 2.5-liter cars get an all-new 8-speed “wet clutch” dual-clutch transmission. Kia says that when specified with the 2.5-liter engine, the K5 will hit 60 mph in 5.8 seconds.
The K5 will come in five grades: LX, LXS, GT-Line and EX, in ascending order. The K5 GT is even more exciting for the discerning driver who will debut this fall. Most trims will have a chrome grille, but the GT and GT-Line cars will be distinguished by a glossy black grille. An all-wheel drive (AWD) option is available on LXS and GT-Line vehicles,
Which uses an electro-hydraulic coupling for instant response in torque distribution. All K5s will come with Normal, Smart, Sport and Custom driving modes that change transmission, steering and engine settings. GT-Line cars want the Sport+ option. There will be 16-, 18- and 19-inch wheels available on the K5 – the latter two will come on Pirelli P Zero rubber to give the car a sporty edge as well.
car interior
Interior remodeling is less revolutionary , and many of its elements would have been familiar to Optima owners back in the day. The instrument cluster and steering wheel have been updated. The central stack gets a replay, too. Base cars will get an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch unit is available with real-time traffic data.
For the first time, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be wireless in a Kia — but not on the upgraded 10.25-inch screen, bewilderingly. A panoramic sunroof and acoustic glass are both standard equipment on the new K5. A Bose premium sound system with 12 speakers is available, as is wireless charging for your smartphone and natural voice recognition technology for things like HVAC playback.
But as you’d expect from any new car, there’s a host of advanced safety features built right into the new K5. Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist with Lane Centering are all standard on the K5. There is a full set of opti
