2021 Tahoe The newest and greatest statement might be a cliché, but it really does apply to the all-new Chevrolet Tahoe . With a fresh face and contemporary content, the three-row SUV is the shorter version of the new Chevrolet Suburban. The 2021 Tahoe is not only bigger on the outside, but its third row and cargo space have grown, too. This is partly due to the debut of an independent rear suspension, which fixes problems that plagued the previous generation. Along with a more spacious cab, it offers two volunteer V-8 engines as well as an efficient, torque-free diesel. There’s also a range of driver assistance options and popular infotainment features that should please full-size families.

The 2021 Tahoe is all-new and greatly improved. Along with a completely redesigned exterior and interior, the three-row SUV has been expanded to provide more room for cargo and passengers. Its cabin also benefits from Tahoe’s first independent rear suspension system, which has already been adopted by direct competitors such as the Ford Expedition and Nissan Armada. Chevy receives a host of new technologies in addition to the addition of a diesel engine option.
We think the mid-level RST and Z71 models hold the best value, with the former being brighter and the latter geared toward adventurers. We like the Z71’s standard all-wheel drive, tough looks, and exclusive off-road equipment. While it can’t be paired with a diesel engine like the RST, it does have air suspension and adaptive dampers—unlike the RST. The Z71 will also be equipped with the Z71 Signature Package, which includes a whole host of desirable features. Features include blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, heated steering wheel and second-row seats, memory settings, panoramic sunroof, power-folding third-row and upgraded towing equipment.
Engine, transmission and performance
The Tahoe has been powered by a V-8 engine for its entire life, and continues that into the latest generation. However , its standard 5.3-liter 355-hp and available 6.2-liter 420-hp are now linked to a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine. While it has the least horsepower of the three, its 460 lb-ft of torque matches the larger V-8’s. Which also has a two-speed transfer case that provides conventional all-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires and underbody protection.
