Chevrolet Colorado 2021
Chevrolet Colorado 2021
Chevrolet Colorado The 2021 Chevy Colorado mid-size pickup and sibling GMC Canyon offer everyday practicality and ample capability, with significant towing and payload ratios. In addition , they are easier to maneuver than their full-size offspring. The Colorado features three different engines , including a surprisingly fast V-6 and a four-cylinder diesel engine. While the interior is covered in cheap plastic, and even the largest cabin size has a small rear seat, the truck maintains a nice driving position and sporty handling. Chevy ensures that every model has a state-of-the-art infotainment system, but leaves many contemporary driver-assistance features off the list. The 2021 Colorado has a resume good enough to suit many pickup shoppers, but it lacks the qualifications that interest a wider audience.
Chevrolet Colorado
The Colorado lineup gets a fresh look for 2021. The most drastic changes include a heavily restyled face for the already iconic ZR2; 2021 looks more like Bane from the Dark Knight trilogy than a pickup truck. Along with the red tow hooks, the ZR2 and Z71 acquire a sandblasted metallic paint color. Likewise, lower trim levels will receive revised front end and different badges than before. Chevy hasn’t said how much the latest Colorado will cost; We’ll know more about that as next year’s scheduled sale approaches.
While the Colorado is a popular truck , its lack of modern driver assistance and substandard interior quality diminish its appeal. For this reason, we recommend the model that makes Chevy unique among midsize pickups. This is the wide body ZR2. Sure, it’s the most expensive trim level, but it does have a suite of exclusive equipment that includes exotic spool valve shocks, electronic locking variations on both axles, and one of the front-ends we’ve seen on a modern truck. We’d opt for the crew cab for its larger rear seat and stick with the standard V-6 versus the higher-priced diesel option. We also choose the Kinetic Blue paint and bed-mounted spare tire carrier because we love the look. The power pack’s high-performance air intake and tail cat exhaust would be our final list as well.

Engine, transmission and performance
Colorado offers a powertrain for just about everyone: a base four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic transmission (the six-speed manual is no longer available), a quick 308-horsepower V-6 with an eight-speed automatic, and the only diesel in this segment – an engine The 2.8-liter four-cylinder produces an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque. While the V-6 and diesel are excellent dance partners for Colorado,
The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder is weak and angry. We tested the diesel and gasoline V-6 engines, and although they differ greatly in nature, either of them will serve its owner well. At 9.1 seconds to 60 mph, the diesel-powered ZR2 crew cab couldn’t keep up with the V-6-powered LT model, which hit that scale in 6.1 seconds. (Oddly enough, the ZR2’s crew cab with a V-6 was much slower than its standard V-6-powered counterpart.) The diesel’s true power is its maximum towing capacity, rear cruise, and fuel economy.
Unlocking the Colorado’s maximum towing capabilities (7000 pounds with the V-6 and 7700 with the diesel) requires a Trailing Equipment package. The base Colorado four-cylinder can hold up to 3,500 lbs. Trailer sway control, which uses both the truck and trailer brakes if the system feels the latter is swaying excessively, is standard on all Colorado vehicles.

Chevrolet Colorado fuel economy
The Forgotten Colorado’s four-cylinder earns EPA ratings of up to 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway . The V-6’s all-wheel drive ratings remain unchanged, at 17 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. When subjected to a Colorado six-cylinder crew cab, when subjected to a 200 mph (75 mph) regime, it returned 23 mpg,
That’s 1 mpg, shy of its 24 mpg highway rating. The rear diesel engine is the most efficient powertrain in its class, with ratings of 20 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway.

Interior, comfort and cargo
Those familiar with the front seats of full-size trucks will feel right at home in Colorado, which features a spacious cockpit. Stuffing more than two people in the back seat of the available crew cab will be tight, and the interior materials look as if they came straight out of a Chevrolet S-10 “94” pickup—that is, it looks cheap. A deep center console box and a large cabin under the rear seat of the crew cab provide a decent amount of storage space in the cabin. Based on our tests,
The interior of the Colorado doesn’t have as many carry-on bags as the Honda Ridgeline (11 vs. 18), but it will carry more stuff in either of the two massive cargo beds. Both the 41-cubic-foot Colorado short box and the 50-cubic-foot long box dwarf the Ridgeline’s 34-cubic-foot limit. The Toyota Tacoma does slightly better than Honda, offering 38 cubic feet in its short-bed model and 47 feet in length, but the cargo bed crown belongs to Colorado.

Chevrolet Colorado information, entertainment and contact
Featuring a Wi-Fi hotspot, two touchscreens and a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium, the Colorado stays near the top of its class in terms of infotainment features. The base truck now offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth audio streaming for two devices and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability; All other models have an 8.0-inch screen, featuring attractive menus and responsive touch functions. The only way Chevy could improve the MyLink interaction experience would be by incorporating telepathy.
