Chevrolet Spark 2021

Chevrolet Spark 2021

Chevrolet Spark The 2021 Chevy Spark offers a lower cost, more fuel-efficient alternative to small crossovers. Chevy’s compact hatchback is one of the cheapest new cars on sale, but its low price tag doesn’t translate into poor quality. The Spark’s interior has nicer-than-expected materials and an infotainment system loaded with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unfortunately, the hatchback’s rear seat is small and luggage space is limited unless the rear seats are folded, a cumbersome process. While we like the manual and four-cylinder transmission, the engine’s lack of traffic power is stark at highway speeds. However, the 2021 Spark’s surprisingly polished ride and agile handling help rate it compared to its classmates.

Despite the lack of a spark one would objectively say “load with content,” additional charging to the 1LT brings useful features, including satellite radio and keyless entry. However, we can’t recommend a $1,100 Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT). If you do not know how to drive a car with manual transmission, here is the incentive to learn. Activ-off-road Activ technology isn’t worth the cost. Keep it simple, as Chevy did with the regular Spark.

  • Engine, Transmission and Performance Chevrolet Spark

Every Spark has a weak four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels through either a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Fortunately, the automatic gearless transmission manages power well without making the engine noise. While the version we tested was responsive at lower speeds around town, be prepared to wait as it hits higher speeds. This compact hatchback certainly isn’t designed for long trips, but it’s efficient and quiet in the city. Easy to pass Spark through slow traffic,

With rapid lateral movements and stable movements. Its short wheelbase helps it maneuver in tight spaces without compromising ride quality. However, the Chevy was bouncy on uneven surfaces, and the toughest bumps were barely isolated. However, the rattles and road noises were quieter than competing economy cars. The Spark’s steering felt direct and reached the road surface in the driver’s hand. It was also relaxed at highway speeds and made changing lanes easy without feeling shaky. The powerful brake pedal had powerful responses that helped rub the gear quickly and steadily.

  • fuel economy

Despite its compact size and small engine, the Spark doesn’t get great EPAs. In city driving, it is rated at 29 mpg with the manual transmission and 30 with the automatic transmission. The highway estimates are 37 mpg on the Activ models and 38 on the other models. Those numbers are outpaced by the Mitsubishi Mirage’s rating of 36 mpg in the city and 43 on the highway. The Spark LT automatic we ran on our highway’s 75-mph fuel-economy, which is part of our comprehensive test regimen, returned 37 mpg.

  • Interior, comfort and cargo Chevrolet Spark

The Spark avoids the poor interior quality common on cheap cars. Although most plastics are tough, they fit together evenly and have an attractive texture. Desirable features are mainly limited to the leather trim and heated front seats. The driving position is upright like a crossover, with a fold-down armrest that keeps things comfortable. Large front doors and high seat height make it easy to get into the cockpit. Unfortunately, the narrow front seats have flimsy cushions and no lateral support. The back seat is undoubtedly narrow.

The front seats should slide forward to comfortably fit an adult. We fit three hand luggage behind the rear seat of the Spark, which offers 11 cubic feet of storage space. That increases to 27 cubes with rear seat storage, allowing it to swallow 15 bags in total. However, this was a very clumsy transformation. It required moving the front seats forward, so that the lower cushions could tip over before the seat backs folded. Until then, the payload floor was nowhere near flat. Likewise, loading luggage involves lifting it up and over the rear bumper. Inside, the Spark has cubbies in the center console and a handy shelf above the glove box, but there’s only a plastic tray between the rear seats.

  • Information, entertainment and communication

Even the entry-level Spark has a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen with a Wi-Fi hotspot, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. The infotainment display is primarily touch-controlled, but a handy rotating volume knob and redundant buttons are conveniently located. A pair of USB ports and a 12V outlet are located below the center stack.

  • Chevrolet Spark Safety and Driver Assistance Features

The Spark 2021 has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the latest version evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not been selected as a top safety pick. While the small hatchback is available with some driver assistance technologies, the most prominent options are reserved for the more expensive model. Key safety features include:

Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are available

 Lane departure warning available

 Rear parking sensors available

Warranty and maintenance coverage

The Spark’s limited warranties and powertrain warranties are nothing short of amazing compared to the Mirage’s 10 years or 100,000 miles. However, the Chevy is a much better car overall. It also includes five years or 60,000 miles of roadside assistance.

The limited warranty covers three years or 36000 miles

Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles

Free maintenance covers one visit for the first year
