Ford 2021 Ford F.150 2021

2021 Ford will introduce the next-generation F-150 with no fewer than six engines — including hybrids for the first time — plus three cabin, long and short bed configurations. Do you need something to impress the in-laws? The high-end models offer more than just a touch of luxury. drag something heavy? We expect some of these half-ton trucks to have a maximum towing capacity of at least 13,000 pounds. An off-road-focused Tremor model will also be available and don’t forget the F-150 Raptor (reviewed separately), 2021 Ford F.150

Ford’s performance powerhouse, which will arrive sometime after the standard truck

Although its design might suggest otherwise, 2021 Ford F.150

Ford’s best-selling car, however, will be new from grille to tailgate for 2021. Rumors have it that an electric F-150 is on the way, too, but we expect it won’t debut for another year or two. Meanwhile, we expect the 2021 F-150 to start arriving at Ford dealerships by the end of 2020.

The F-150 is available in multiple body designs and bed lengths. While the XLT is a step up from the basic XL work truck, we prefer the extra luxuries in the Lariat. It costs more than $10,000 more than the XLT, which may put it out of reach for some buyers,

But it has the best combination of features and affordability.

Engine, Transmission and Performance Ford 2021

Like the 2020 model, the 2021 F-150 will be available with several engines — a 290-hp 3.3-liter V-6; 400 HP 5.0L V-8; Twin-turbocharged 325 hp 2.7L V-6; 400 hp twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6; and a 250-hp 3.0-liter V-6 diesel. No matter which engine you choose, the F-150 comes paired with a 10-speed automatic. For the first time ever, the F-150 will also be equipped with a hybrid engine. Ford claims that its new hybrid powertrain – consisting of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine,

And a 35 kW electric motor, and a 10-speed automatic transmission – it’ll deliver 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque as well. Up to 700 miles of driving range per tank. The automaker hasn’t released official energy numbers or fuel-efficiency estimates for it yet. Buyers will be able to choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive with any of the F-150’s available powertrains. A rumored all-electric F-150 is likely to be a joint venture with EV startup Rivian,

But Ford hasn’t announced much about it.

Towing and load capacity

While the base 3.3-liter V6’s towing capacity is 8,200 pounds, models equipped with the 400-horsepower 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 can top out at 14,000 pounds. Using the impressive 5.0-liter V-8 means maximum towing capacity is just 13,000 pounds;

The V-6 diesel engine is capable of towing up to 12,100 pounds and the hybrid model can tow up to 12,700 pounds. The load capacity ranges from 1840 to 3250 pounds. These towing and payload capabilities keep the new F-150 on track to chase major competitors such as the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500 and Ram 1500.

2021 Ford fuel economy

The EPA estimates that the 2021 F-150 equipped with a turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 will gain up to 20 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway. The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 is rated at 18 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. The hybrid version has ratings of up to 25 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway. Once we can get our new F-150 running on our 75 mph highway for fuel economy,

Which is part of our comprehensive testing system, we can rate real-world mpg.

Interior, comfort and cargo

Internal appointments receive promotion for 2021,

Which is what Ford had to do in order to compete with the luxury cabin of the Ram 1500. It is said that more premium materials are used throughout the cabin and more stowage compartments are spread across the cabin. The additional convenience features are intended to make things easier for those using the F-150 as a mobile workspace. For example, the lever of the 10-speed automatic transmission can be folded flat using the center console to create a large flat workspace. Likewise, the F-150 can be ordered with foldable front seats that can provide a place to sleep.

Passenger space is expected to be similar to the outgoing model, with the four-door crew cabin structure being the most spacious and family-friendly of the group. Outside, the F-150’s bed has seen several improvements, starting with available powered panels that now extend down the side of the truck to provide an easy step into the cargo area. An optional onboard generator provides up to 7.2 kW of power to support electricity needs on the job site or at tailgate parties.

Information, entertainment and communication

Ford will offer an 8.0-inch infotainment display as standard that runs an enhanced version of the brand’s Sync 4 software,

While a larger 12.0-inch unit will be optional. This will be compatible with the Ram 1500’s optional 12.0-inch head-up display, which dwarfs the 8.0-inch screens on the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and we also expect a Wi-Fi hotspot; Navigation and SiriusXM radio should be available as options as well as Bang & Olufsen’s premium stereo system. The new Sync 4 software provides over-the-air updates for future software releases, traffic and weather updates via the optional navigation system,

and onboard telematics for fleet customers to help track vehicle location and usage.

2021 Ford features safety and driver assistance

The 2021 F-150 has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA),

It has not been fully evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Ford offers a range of driver assistance features, but few are standard. More features will be available as buyers progress through the F-150’s six trim levels, including a rear camera to monitor a trailer on the go. Key safety features include:

Standard Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection

Lane departure warning with lane-keep assist

 Available adaptive cruise control

Warranty and maintenance coverage

We don’t expect Ford to change its standard warranty offerings for 2021. The current truck comes with three years or 36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper coverage and five years or 60,000 miles of powertrain protection. Ford doesn’t offer any free scheduled maintenance, but competitors like Toyota Tundra and GM twins do.

The limited warranty covers three years or 36000 miles

Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles

 No free scheduled maintenance
