Honda Civic 2022

Honda Civic 2022

Honda Civic The popular Honda Civic compact car is seeing a big glow for 2022 as it debuts with a more mature look, new features and a premium cabin design.

Honda hasn’t released all the info yet, but we’re expecting to offer a selection of the four-cylinder engines – including the 1.5-liter turbo –

Front-wheel drive will continue to be standard as Honda insists all-wheel drive is not part of the plan.

Updated tech features like a larger infotainment display, wireless smartphone connectivity and improved driver assistance features are all useful updates that will help the Civic avoid competition from the likes of the Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3 and Toyota Corolla.

The all-new Civic sedan is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2021 with hatchback models soon after.

All-new Civic for 2022, with redesigned body, updated interior, and seemingly better performance

P Li Although we expect to be price similar to the Civic 2022 model price 2021 outgoing, Honda has not made a complete list of standard and optional features, so it is difficult to choose those that represent the best value.

In the past, we’ve been fans of the reasonably priced Sport model, but depending on the vehicle’s available features, that could change. As we find out more about Civic packaging and pricing, we’ll update this story with details.

Honda Civic Engine, Transmission & Performance

Honda hasn’t released any information about the powertrain in the 2022 Civic, but we’re betting the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s optional on the current car will carry over to the new model.

A lower-powered 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is currently standard and could also carry over into 2022. Honda says the new Civic will remain just a front-wheel drive vehicle. Work is also underway on high-performance Sporty Si and Type-R variants; We review those models separately.

Honda Civic fuel economy

The EPA hasn’t released any fuel economy estimates for the 2022 Civic yet, but the current model is among the most fuel-efficient in the compact car segment, and that’s unlikely to change.

When we get a chance to test drive the new Civic, we’ll take it on the 75-mph highway fuel economy test route and report the results here.

Interior, comfort and cargo

A more streamlined interior debuted on the 2022 Civic, with cleaner lines and a dashboard that features a full-width honeycomb grille design element cleverly concealing the air vents.

The wider center console looks less cluttered than the previous model and features what looks like a large, deep box in front of the gear lever to stash smartphones, keys and snacks for road trips.

Honda says passenger space is about the same as the 2021 model, and the same goes for the sedan’s cargo room; A hatchback body style will also be offered, but we don’t have information on that model yet.

Honda Civic information, entertainment and contact

The 2022 Civic prototype pictured here features a 9.0-inch touchscreen that works with the latest version of Honda’s infotainment system.

We’re not sure if this screen will be offered as standard equipment or a smaller screen – perhaps a 7.0-inch unit – will be the base display.

Either way, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will likely be standard and may also offer wireless connectivity. Expected options include dashboard navigation, onboard Wi-Fi, and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Safety and driver assistance features

We’ll have to wait for crash test results from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but Honda says a suite of driver assistance features will be offered as standard.

Honda’s standard warranty package is just average, with competitors like the Elantra and Kia Forte offering more comprehensive coverage. Civic buyers also won’t find a free scheduled maintenance plan, something Corolla offers as standard.

The limited warranty covers three years or 36000 miles

Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
